The last six will require patience, practice, and dedication. Six are fairly trivial, and you should be able to earn them within a couple hours. Press to swap your current orb with your “up next” orb. You can also use the triggers to move your winged scarab left or right very quickly, but this control is only useful if you're trying to catch gems and coins that are falling at the same time on opposite sides of the screen, which isn't really required for any achievements. I think most people will find the left stick to be most natural, but it’s your choice. Use the left stick, right stick, or D-pad to move your winged scarab left and right at the bottom of the screen.

The controls in this game are very simple. That means if you run out of lives, you won’t have to start the entire game over, but you might lose a little bit of progress. If you run out of all your lives, you’ll have the opportunity to restart at the beginning of your current stage with three lives and zero score. If you lose a life, you will restart your current level with the orb threshold reset to zero. There are also 13 bonus levels, one at the end of every stage except for the last stage. The game consists of 88 levels among 14 stages. To complete a level, first clear the orb threshold to prevent new orbs from spawning, then clear the remaining orbs on screen. Additionally, if you take too long to clear your current line of orbs, the game will spawn a new line of orbs anyway, and you’ll have to deal with multiple lines of orbs at the same time. If you clear your current line of orbs but have not yet reached the orb threshold, a new line of orbs will spawn. Reach this threshold to stop new lines of orbs from spawning. It is based on the number of orbs you have cleared in that level so far. In each level, there is also a threshold for a certain number of orbs you must clear. Create a colored match of three or more adjacent orbs to explode that sequence of orbs and shorten the line. Your job is to use your winged scarab to insert additional orbs into the moving line of orbs to clear them. If the line of orbs reaches the pyramid at the end of the path, you lose a life. Various colored orbs will travel in a line along a fixed path. It is the third game in the Luxor franchise, but it’s the only Luxor game to be released on an Xbox platform.

Luxor 2 is a sphere-matching puzzle game featuring Ancient Egyptian themed levels and artwork.
